It's a $5 Holla Kind of Night!

Tonight while lurking in my secret store around the corner.. (the one that's so dirt cheap it makes me giggle..) This Marco NY bright floral stretch belted tunic caught my eye.. Perhaps it was the vibrant red orange and purple floral print, or the tie belt that made me swoon but there it was.. that little white tag that said $5.... sold!
I know fall is here, but I'm thinking some cute cropped jeans and some really fly shoes that pop can set this off.. What are your thoughts? What would you pair with this adorable top?
P.S. I bumped into a lady in the store that said my store was her *secret* place to shop too..but then proceeded to brag about this GoodWill *somewhere* in the area that was AMAZING.. I asked her where it was, and she said she couldn't tell me.. Oh I'll find it lady.. fair trade is fair trade.. Have a lovely night darlings! See you tomorrow- LocalCeleb-

It's a $3.00/ Express Crossover Pleated Chiffon Dress in plum kind of night!

$80 For an Express Crossover Pleated Chiffon dress in plum?
I think not! I'll take this dress for a fabulous $3 please..
I had to do a double take because I thought maybe I misread the price of this beautiful gem as $30 but low and behold..$3 it was.. Yay! This dress drapes perfectly on me and the delicious plum color compliments my skin tone like no other.. I just had to share this ace of a find- purchased from my best kept secret store around the corner, not a thrift, but so dirt cheap it makes me giggle.. I am lucky to be one of the 11 states blessed with this bargain palace, which allows me to always find unique jewelry, designer duds and everything in between..If anyone is ever in my hood, let me know and I will direct you to the treasure cove..
Ciao darlings! Have a wonderful night! LocalCeleb-

It's a *WHY* do you call yourself LocalCeleb? [kind of Day!]HOW did YOU choose YOUR blog name? Do Tell..

So many people ask me-Why oh Why did you pick the name LocalCeleb for your blog. Are you that full of yourself? The answer is Yes.. and a humble..NO! Well..you see it's like this. I was lucky enough to become a guest on the Oprah Show in 2006, we were on the show "Mom's who can't say no" Ok..Ok.. So I was guilty of being a divorced/single mom, working all the time and spoiling my kids just a tad..[who isn't] It was an amazing/unexpected whirlwind experience that my children and I will never forget. I was shocked when one of the producers actually called me last week for an update on our lives and an updated picture of my new blended family. After all these years I, of course was ecstatic! I thought we had been forgotten and were so beyond our 15 min. of fame, but after producers were going through some of the older clips, we caught an eye and resurfaced.. Yay! Then in 2008 I wrote into the Tyra Show with one of my brilliant ideas. The first show for that season was titled Opposite Day. I thought that it would be interesting for a woman to propose to a man instead of the other way around. It has been my experience that we always seem to be waiting for WHEN that special question will be popped..Valentine's day? Christmas? My birthday? and if a woman is confident enough, why can't she go out of the box and turn the tables. Well the producers loved that idea and flew us out to New York. Mr. Parks was my boyfriend at the time and had no idea why we were going on the show, he though that we were competing in a couples challenge. I know that some people don't agree with a woman proposing, but some of the most outlandish things I do rarely follow any moral rules or bible verse so here we are four years later and still going strong. After these shows, I became known as The Local Celeb, jokingly my friends and family were always asking for my autograph and still are..crazy nuts that they are. This is how Local Celeb came about, I liked it and I'm sticking with it, and that's my final answer.

It's a Red Leopard Print kind of day! Also known as Tuesday.

Happy Tuesday! No time for my usual rushed photo shoot this morning so I thought I would go out on a limb and actually find the articles online that I'm wearing and post them for you. It was a Bright Blue Akron Marathon Relay type of day!

The *Handsome* Mr Parks who completely smoked it as the last leg of his relay team.. I know....... right? I'm right there w/ya...:)
We spent yesterday morning and afternoon running in The Akron Marathon Relay. Didn't know I got my workout on like that did ya? Well.. Mr. Parks and I have been frequenting a personal trainer (right around the corner) since January and we love her. "Hey Nicole! " She has encouraged us to not only drop 40lbs each but she trains us for race events that we want to participate in, and even participates herself. Here are a few candids of the day, it was empowering and satisfying in every single way. I watched 70 year old men and women, running the marathon, a person w/a prosthetic leg, running next to me and every walk of life out there sweating and giving all they had..and YES.. I'm still fashionable even while I'm on my grind.. Let's have a great start to the week!

It's a Botanical Garden Ripe Fest type of day!

Today Mr. Parks and I *rushed* to attend the Cleveland Botanical Garden's Ripe Fest (remember the tickets I won to this tremendous culinary event?) We arrived and it was delightful. We purchased homemade maple syrup and delectable little cupcakes, walked around clicked some photos and were off.. So.. I pouted.. the entire way home.. Mr. Parks did remind me that this event is 3 days long so.. there's still a chance for us to enjoy the festivities if we make it through tomorrow's jaunt.. stay tuned.. and wish us LUCK..
