We were excited to get Sebastian involved in a program like Jump Start Sports, he was really looking forward to experiencing some of the activities that his older siblings participate in.

Practices were held on Mondays only,  and the children learned the concept of flag football.  I thought the program was well organized and the kids really loved participating and being part of a team. They were high-fiving each other on the field and really taking the time to enjoy themselves. Sebastian was already curious as to when the next program would start. I browsed the site and found that the basketball program was next on the list, so I'm thinking of getting him involved in that next.

Sebastian was thrilled to have his own team shirt and to be a participating flag football team member of the Saints!

Book 2 of this series actually takes place a decade before book 1(Sky1 Foundation)
The book leads you cautiously to the back-story of Nick and exactly what has happened to him in his past, and how he became the man he is to date- There are new love interests (Charles & Helena) and Nick seems infatuated with Anna, who is a staple icon in this quick read.

I definitely enjoyed the corrupt political attributes of this story and the constant need for Nick to constantly fix things, by any means necessary. This book will have you waiting, guessing, wondering, and questioning just exactly what will come next. I appreciated the introduction of fresh, new characters, and engaged in the full force of the sci-fi setting. This book will leave you wondering just who you can trust.

Remembering Moore, Oklahoma- May 20, 2013- Please Share if you care..

The tragedy in Moore, Oklahoma that claimed 24 lives, including 9 children, still remains fresh in our minds. The EF5 tornado registered as one of the most catastrophic cyclones on the tornado damage scale. May 20, 2013 marks the anniversary of, the loss of 12,000-13,000 homes, billions in wreckage, lost memories, and more grieving hearts than one can count.

 

Rescuers scanned through debris after this vicious storm swept through the town.
Lifeless bodies were discovered, with expectations to find more. Rescue workers sifted through the ruins, while those that escaped revealed their brave narratives of survival.


Our sincerest and most heartfelt gratitude goes out to The  Champions for Children. These heroes protected numerous children during this hardship, and have remained supportive and invaluable in this challenging year after the storm.

On April 30th, 2014, Seventh Generation's Toxin Freedom Fighter, Zephyr Chaffer, presented a petition which included 120,000 signatures, to Senator Kristen Gillibrand of New York. This petition, geared toward Congress, suggested a nationwide stance against toxic and harmful chemicals laws in our country.

The Toxin Freedom Fighters, adorned in capes, issued this petition in hopes of providing substantial results from environmental testing, which would support the amendment of the 1976 Toxic Substance Control Act.  John Replogle(Seventh Generation President and CEO) was in attendance, as was Kristi Marsh,(Mother of three, breast cancer survivor, and advocate)and David Levin(Member of the American Sustainable Business Council)

The Toxic Substance Control Act is outdated and ineffective, and Americans are concerned about the chemicals and the impact of these toxins in consumer products. There are thousands of chemicals that are currently used in the manufacturing of these products that have not been tested for the impact they actually have on humans, and the environment. This is truly unacceptable. The safety and health of our families is extremely important. Exposure to toxic chemicals may inevitably lead to cancer, other diseases, and future health concerns.
